The Galley Beggar Press
Short Story Prize 2017/18

HILARY DEAN
‘Resurrection’

The GBP Short Story Prize 2017/18 is currently open to submissions. While it is, we’ll be revisiting last year’s fantastic longlist- and shortlistees, with links to their work.

Our second finalist, from the 2016/17 longlist of 13 authors and shortlist of four, is Hilary Dean.

HILARY DEAN is a writer and documentary film-maker, whose work focuses on representations of disability and difference. She has won numerous awards and nominations for her writing, including the Lascaux Prize in short fiction and Canada Writes Creative Non-Fiction Prize.

Hilary’s GBP Prize 2015/17 longlisted story, ‘Resurrection’, is not currently available to read - but you can read another of Hilary’s short stories, ‘Promises’ for free here. And another, ‘Holy Bald-Headed’ here.
