DAVID McGRATH has won the Bryan MacMahon Short Story Competition, The Hastings Short Story Award, The Bare Fiction Prize and The Brick Lane Bookshop Short Story Competition. He has been shortlisted for the Bridport Prize, Manchester Fiction Prize, London Magazine Story Competition and The Edinburgh Prize. He has been published in The Stinging Fly, Banshee and The London Magazine as well as several other journals and anthologies. He has won mentorships from The Irish Writers Centre and bursaries from The Society of Authors and The Irish Arts Council. He performs his stories regularly at Liars League London and has won StorySLAM at The Royal Festival Hall. His novel The Donkey Christ has received much praise in the drafting process. It has been described as wild, bawdy and delightfully blasphemous. It is irreverent cult fiction and it is forthcoming. David is from Wicklow in Ireland but lives in East London with his two sons.
