DJ TAYLOR is the author of two biographies, Thackeray (1999), and Orwell: The Life. He has written nine novels, the most recent being Derby Day (2011), longlisted for the Man Booker Prize, and is also well known as a critic and reviewer. His journalism appears in the Independent, the Guardian, the Spectator and the New Statesman. David's short story collection, Wrote for Luck, was published by Galley Beggar Press in 2015.
