GALLEY BEGGAR PRESS SHORT STORY PRIZE 2025/26

SAM MILLS graduated from Oxford University with a degree in English. She is the author of three crossover novels published by Faber & Faber, including the award-winning Blackout. Her debut novel for adults, The Quiddity of Will Self (Corsair) was described by the Guardian as ‘an extraordinary novel of orgiastic obsession’. Her non-fiction includes The Fragments of my Father (4th Estate)which was shortlisted for the Barbellion Prize, Chauvo-Feminism (Indigo) and Uneven: On Bisexuality (Atlantic). Her most recent novel is The Watermark (Granta). She is the co-founder of indie press Dodo Ink: their next publication is Loren Ipsum by Andrew Gallix. In 2020, Sam was a judge for the Republic of Consciousness Prize.
